Intro: When it comes down to it, I’m an IPA man. It’s my go-to style, and I just can’t get enough hop extract into my bloodstream. When breweries try to add another layer of flavor with wood-aging, it can turn the style into a whole new beast. That beast can be fantastic, but I’ve had plenty examples of the style that just don’t work.
Description: Pours a pale golden with medium head that goes away quickly. Significant caramel malts mix with flavors of tobacco and vanilla. Very little flavor from the hops comes through, but there is a significant bitterness matched by a moderate syrupy sweetness. The wood flavors are really quite strong, especially the vanilla. Almost too strong. This has turned into a balanced IPA with complex flavors, but keep going if you’re looking for your usual dose of NW hops. For 7.1% ABV, it is insanely smooth and drinkable. No hint of alcohol flavors whatsoever. It’s an interesting beer, and it’s definitely worth trying.
Verdict: Worth Trying

Commercial Description/Press Release:
Rumble IPA is an American IPA with subtle nuance. Brewed with heavy handed additions of Pacific Northwest hops, this beer is gently aged on French and American oak resulting in a wonderful balance of bitterness, caramel sweetness, vanilla, and undertones of pine and citrus. Very inspiring. 7.1% ABV
